Three-chuck system

Workholding designed around long, heavy profiles

01

Two moving chucks and one fixed chuck

Coordinated three-chuck workholding supports long workpieces across the cutting path.

02

Dual cutting stations

The listed two-station arrangement supports different cutting positions while the chucks coordinate workpiece support and transfer.

03

Third-chuck tail handling

The third-chuck process is configured for a listed 0 mm minimum tail length; the final sequence is confirmed against the selected profile.

04

Large-diameter workholding options

Three listed chuck sizes cover 350, 560 and 680 mm configurations for large tube and structural-profile requirements.

05

3D profile-cutting package

A 3D cutting head and tube-cutting control package support round tube and listed structural or non-circular profiles.

06

Floating workpiece support

Floating supports help reduce sag while long workpieces are fed and rotated.

Evaluate three-chuck support against the full workpiece

Distinguish chuck size from usable tube capacity

The 350, 560 and 680 mm values identify listed chuck options. The usable range depends on the profile geometry and selected workholding. Provide the section drawing and workpiece mass instead of treating a chuck diameter as a universal maximum tube diameter.

Define the tail-handling sequence

The third-chuck process lists a 0 mm minimum tail length under a configured cutting sequence. Confirm how the selected profile will be held and transferred through that sequence. It is not a guarantee of zero material loss on every job.

Include support and installation in the comparison

Long workpieces and the listed machine-weight range affect the handling and installation plan. Review the selected machine length, material access, lifting requirements and workpiece support with the project layout before confirming the equipment package.

Machine selection questions

What do the three chucks do?

The configuration uses two moving chucks and one fixed chuck to coordinate workholding and transfer during cutting. Compare that arrangement with the part length, support needs and cutting sequence; chuck count does not specify automatic stock loading.

Do the 350–680 mm chuck options define the maximum tube diameter?

No universal tube diameter follows from those chuck sizes. The usable workpiece range depends on section geometry and the selected chuck configuration. Submit the profile drawing for confirmation.

Is zero tail length guaranteed for every workpiece?

The page lists 0 mm minimum tail length with the third-chuck process. The result depends on the selected workholding and cutting sequence, so it must be reviewed for the actual profile and part program.

Does selecting 60 kW establish a fixed cutting thickness?

The range includes a power option up to 60 kW, but power alone does not define the result on a particular profile. Material, wall thickness, geometry and required edge quality are reviewed before selecting the cutting configuration.

What is needed to quote a heavy tube or structural-profile job?

Provide section drawings, material, wall thickness, stock and finished-part lengths, workpiece mass and cut features. Include loading and collection methods, lifting access and the proposed installation layout so the chuck, support and machine package can be assessed.
